1 Day Excursion to Ouarzazate
This one day trip from Marrakech will takes you the discover one of the most beautifull cities in the south of Morocco, Ouarzazate City, on the road you will cross over the High Atlas Mountains chain as well as the famous Tizi N’Tichka's pass, the highest pass in the whole of Africa with 1412 miles (2260 meters) of height. Along the road, you will also enjoy the beautifull landscapes and the Berber villages nestled in the mountains, sometimes it’s hard to draw a distinction between the villages and mountains themselves…
When we get close from Ouarzazate region, the landscapes become deserted and semi-arid. Before arriving to our destination, we will stop at the magnificent Kasbah Ait Benhaddou, a historical palace considered as a UNESCO World Heritage, built in the heart of a beautiful valley called Ounila.
We will continue to Ouarzazate city, called also Hollywood of Morocco. Here you will have the chance to visit Kasbah Taourirt, the old residence of the Pasha of Marrakech and will aslo visit a film studio where several well-known films have been shot, such as: the diamond of the Nile, Lawrence of Arabia, Sodome et Gomorre, le Joyau du Nil, Jésus de Nazareth, Kingdom of heaven, the Mommy, Gladiator, 7 days in Tebet, Alexander the Great, Babel…
At the end of the day, we will return to Marrakech

Great tour! Hamid was so amazing. He got us from the airport and took us straight to the riad. The next day picked us up for our tour to the Atlas Mountains and Ait Ben Haddou. He was from the area and gave us great information as we drove. He speaks great English and is fun to talk to. He even went above and beyond the next day when myself and my friend (both females) tried to walk to the souks and did not feel comfortable doing so we called him last minute and he fit us right in to his day and picked us up and dropped us off. We will definitely be back to tour with Hamid!
Very interesting excursion, absolutely recommendable. The excursion is already worthwhile because of the the landscapes are amazing. Especially the journey through the atlas was a very good experience and Ait-Ben-Haddou was great. It was a very long day, because the whole trip took about 12 hours, but everything went well and it was well organized.
Ait Ben Haddou as destination is absolutely worthly- the journey is a little long (photo stops, breaks and delays in pick-up at the riad), Ait-Ben Haddou is an excellent Kasbah. The excursion to Ouarzazate takes a long time. The price was absolutely great, the bus driver and the tour guide were very nice. I would recommend the trip.
